These top 5 blog posts from September 2017 are all about success. This month was seriously ONE FOR THE BOOKS. Wow. I am honestly so humbled and thankful and excited and motivated and inspired! I have honestly gone from feeling like a failure to overcoming failure to remembering how far I’ve come to CELEBRATING SMALL VICTORIES.
YOU GUYS, for the first time E V E R, I feel like I can breathe. I FEEL LIKE I’M GETTING SOMEWHERE. I shared this post on social media the other day (picture + caption below…sorry if you’re having to read it twice!):
I’m happy today—extra happy—because hard work does pay off. When you’re working towards your biggest dreams & goals, the journey feels like a whole lot of nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing. That’s the pattern I’ve known for over two years. Don’t get me wrong! A little something would pop up here & there—God has always provided enough encouragement to keep me going—but the journey to success exists of a whole lot of nothing for a really long time before you ever even get a GLIMPSE of the something you’re hoping for. This week has been a blessing. I’ve always been grateful for the journey & all God has done/is doing/will do. I’ve always known He’s working! But this past week, literally by the grace of God, I experienced a few more “somethings” than I ever have on this journey. There was no single, grand occurrence…but there have been SEVERAL tiny, sweet moments. Moments the world would shrug off…moments I know, without a doubt, are divine moments. I see them, look up, smile & praise God because I know this is my journey. I’ve known that, but in these moments, I REALLY know it. So, I’m extra happy today.
If you’re struggling & fighting for what’s unseen & impossible to hold in your hands, be patient. Trust God’s timing. Your “somethings” will unfold eventually, so rest in that today. Face all the nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing of the journey with hope & faith because God is working, just as He said He would. Your path is not a dead end. There may be twists & turns & speed bumps & traffic jams & detours but this is still your journey. Cherish the “somethings” when they come & give yourself permission to feel & express happiness. If God pulled an Aerosmith & told you to “WALK THIS WAAAAAYYYY” then I can ASSURE you He has a plan. A very good plan…so hold His hand a little tighter today & keep moving.
So, here are my top 5 blog posts from September 2017!
When I surrendered my blog and traffic to Him daily, a weight was lifted off my shoulders and I didn’t feel like I had to try so hard. Don’t get me wrong, I worked my tail off! But I knew, ultimately, at the end of the day, it was in God’s hands. Not my own. The future of my blog does not depend on me and I forgot that.
It’s been freeing to rediscover and be reminded God has ultimate control.
Finally achieving my goals has reminded me that hard work does pay off, in His timing, not my own.
Here are 3 things to do when you’re feeling like a failure.

Remembering how far you’ve come reignites the dwindling flame and provides the spark you need to keep going.
By no means have I enjoyed every minute of this path (L O L). However, I have repeatedly been humbled by God’s goodness and faithfulness and that, to me, is worth far more than a “smooth” ride (those don’t even exist, hahaha).
I’m literally doing what I love while working towards my biggest and greatest and wildest dreams. Striving to become a full-time blogger/speaker and make a living doing so is NOT a detour, it’s a VITAL part of the path. Unless being a talk show host isn’t what God has in store which is totally fine. I’ve surrendered those dreams and I’m chasing after them until He tells me to stop.
I have never felt joy like this before.

September 15th is International Dot Day! I had NO IDEA this day existed until a few weeks ago when my co-worker told me all about it (S/O to Lynsey). I WAS OBSESSED IMMEDIATELY. According to the website,
International Dot Day is named for the classic Peter H. Reynolds storybook The Dot. Available in English and many other languages, the book shares the story of a girl who begins a journey of self-discovery after a caring teacher challenges her to “make her mark.”
Here are the two main takeaways I acquired reading The Dot and why I’m now fired up about International Dot Day. It’s definitely worth celebrating!
Look for the potential in others.
Read more about it here (and don’t forget to “make a mark” in your calendar so you can celebrate it next year!).
Overcoming failure takes tenacity and endurance and diligent effort. It’s not for the faint of heart.
You can do it, though. If you dig down deep enough, you can muster up the courage to continue pressing on despite the odds being against you.
The ability to overcome failure is there.
You just have to go looking for it and then embrace it when you find it.

My dreams have changed slightly and I’ve written that down, too! Every important step or redirection is noted. Anytime something happens that has God’s provision written all over it, I write it down.
I believe the dreams and desires we have in our hearts are there for a reason.I’m confident, one day, I’ll be able to recall how God divinely organized my path.
I’m not sure if my dream is going to look the way I imagine it looking, and that’s 100% okay! My dream journal is between me and God. It’s about our relationship and the journey we’re walking, together…my hand placed snuggly in His.
A dream journal is a simple way of keeping track of your journey so you can look back and see all the ways God has provided.
So, if you’re interested, here is how to keep a dream journal.

Happy times, sad times.
They’re all here.
Every single feeling and emotion is here.
AND THEY ARE ALL PART OF THE JOURNEY. Every moment is necessary. Each hiccup and tiny step forward is needed and worthwhile. It may not seem like it at first but I promise there is growth in those moments.
God is good at all times.
In every moment, He is there and near and He’s going to help you through.
It may be the hardest thing in the world but life is too short to live any other way. These top 5 blog posts from September 2017 are proof of that!
