6 Things to Consider When Buying a Home
There’s a lot to take into consideration when it comes to buying a home, especially if you’re moving to a new city. You may be wondering where to start. After you’ve been pre-qualified and we know what your budget is, I’ll get a search set up for you in the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). Believe it or not, the home buying process is not simply typing in a city on Zillow and seeing what houses are listed for sale. This is not an accurate picture of what you can afford and/or what you’re specifically looking for. We don’t want you falling in love with a home that’s in the wrong school district or that’s $50k above your maximum budget.
When it comes to buying a home, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.
Below is a list of 6 things you should consider when buying a home that we’ll use to begin the search process:
school district
price range
square feet
number of bedrooms
number of bathrooms
lot size
We can always adjust this criteria along the way, but putting this on paper will help you see whether or not your wish list is realistic or not. For example, you’re not going to find a house for sale in White Oak ISD that’s also on 4 acres. It doesn’t exist!
Here’s the thing…
I’m here to help with the home buying process! My job as a real estate agent is to make sure you we keep heading in the right direction. It’s easy to lose sight of what’s most important! If you’re thinking about beginning the home buying process, feel free to go ahead and complete my buyer’s intake form. I’ll be in touch after that!
